Susan Constan, MEd School Counselor – Bainbridge Island, Washington
Sue and I were awarded the Fulbright DAT in 2020, but our awards were postponed due to Covid. We spent a year in anticipation, then received unexpected news at the height of Omicron, which postponed our trip for 30 days. But we’re here now, and that’s what matters! Sue’s research is on Character Citizenship Education and its effects on student development and performance. Sue is an avid hiker, yogini, and barre method practitioner. She has been a rock throughout this process, and I’m thrilled that we get to experience this together.
*We’re going to a Soundbath and Reiki Healing session this week.
Mircea Arsenie, MEd Science Faculty – Chicago, Illinois
Mitch is a biologist from Chicago Public Schools and received the Fulbright Award in 2021. He’s Romanian and has traveled the globe extensively. Mitch didn’t have any setbacks throughout this process and departed for Singapore in January. He has held the group together by answering all of our preparation questions, so we had a smooth transition upon our arrival. Mitch is a local celebrity in Singapore! In one month, he’s already experienced 80% of the things on my to-do list. He’s an avid hiker and provides details on the local flora and fauna on our walks. I’ve watched Mitch participate in STEM PD’S by sharing his wealth of knowledge and approaching each learning experience with genuine curiosity. I look forward to getting to know him better and sampling the best sushi in Singapore.
